The Orris circuit - Roumazet and Soucarrane ponds

Witnesses to an important pastoral activity, the orris are no longer dwellings, but some remain shepherds' shelters. This hike takes in some of them, along the paths to the Roumazet and Soucarrane ponds.
Access: From Tarascon, take the D8 towards Vicdessos - Auzat (km16). Follow Marc D108 (km24). Follow signs for Étang de Soulcem to Pla de l'Isard. Follow this road to the Orris du Carla parking lot.

    (D/A) Start from the Orris du Carla parking lot. Take the yellow path around the shepherd's hut. It follows the Soulcem stream on the right bank and reaches a footbridge at the foot of the Labinas waterfalls.

    0h35 - INTERSECTION CHEMING DE ROUMAZET (1820m). You must leave the path that runs straight along the edge of the stream towards the valley floor. Shortly afterwards, the path bends to the right.
    After a series of hairpin bends, you're back on the slope. Head further south.
    Pass the junction of the Chemin de la Souccarane and the Pic de la Rouge at 2140m.

    1h45 - ETANG DE ROUMAZET (2163m). Pass the pond on the left. Reach the collet (2310m).

    2h30 - ETANG DE LA SOUCCARANE (2292m). Walk along the collet. Cross the weir. Find the intersection with the Roumazet path.

    4h00 - Once back on the path, you reach the Carla orris parking lot.
