A2CAT Compagnie R2 Contemporary dance

Based on the experience acquired by the professional company "Fou de Bassan puis F2B", in residence at the Théâtre du Grenier in Bougival since 1992, and on its practice in terms of creation and distribution, the A2CAT association was created in Ax Les Thermes, to lead a project to promote choreographic creation.

With a repertoire of some fifty creations, the company has performed over 1000 times in a wide variety of venues, bringing the art of choreography to new audiences. Invited to perform in numerous theaters, the company has also multiplied its interventions in very different, sometimes improbable venues, but always with the aim of promoting choreographic art in all its forms. The diversity of the projects proposed leads all dancers to acquire a richness of interpretation inspired by different styles of dance.

A number of artists from different backgrounds also collaborate on the creations, bringing an indispensable perspective to the act of creation. Painters, sculptors, mime artists and composers have all worked with us.

Every year, Cie R2 organizes: Discovery workshops The aim of these workshops is to revisit a choreographic piece from the company's repertoire.
