Speleology in the L’Ermite cave at Ussat-les-Bains.

The Ariège, a land of caves, is a privileged site for the practice of speleology. The underground environment is totally different from the outside world, where you have to relearn how to move and walk. It’s a discovery of the dark, of crawling, of voids and volumes, of underground life, of stalagmites and stalactites. Very playful and dry, this cave is suitable for children. Four-legged passages, a small labyrinth and beautiful concretion rooms follow one another. The visit lasts around 3 hours. Multiple games available inside the cave

2nd day: Morning: Climbing on the Auzat rock school: “climbing” is a symbiosis between man and rock. For all ages and all levels of experience, bouldering and cliff climbing offer a wide range of pleasures: mastering your body harmoniously, learning to overcome self-doubt, striving to surpass yourself, …or sharing a moment of friendship.
If the weather is bad, the climbing activity will take place in the climbing gym in Auzat.

Or the Parcours -aventure du Montcalm: For the 1st time in the Ariège-Pyrénées, the DSDEN 09 has just granted approval to welcome elementary school to the Parc Acrobatique en Hauteur (PAH) de Montcalm Aventure in Vicdessos – 09220 Val de Sos.

This park was completely redone in 2022, and all the courses are equipped with continuous lifelines ensuring 100% safety for the practitioner. It has numerous courses adapted to each age group.

Through our park and its various courses, we promote the integration of all children thanks to various activities requiring group cohesion and benevolence.

Beyond the “fun physical activity” aspect during school time, high ropes courses enable you to develop a multitude of educational objectives and human values for your students. In particular, accrobranche develops self-transcendence, emotional control, mutual aid and communication.
The Parc Acrobatique en Hauteur activity for kindergarten and elementary classes can easily be integrated into the educational project of your school outing.

2:00 pm: Visit Rêve et magie du rail. Adjacent to Rêve et Magie du Rail, an old ambulant mail coach, which stopped its travels in 1991, and an ALSTHOM BB 4736 locomotive, built in 1934, will remind you of a human adventure, rich in events, near and already so far away. Last but not least, an exhibition entitled “du Portage à dos d’Hommes aux
Trains à Grande Vitesse”, will take you on a 20-panel tour of the extraordinary history of land transport since Antiquity.
