Nature and Resources Stay
From CP to CM2Program
– Workshop thread: hut-making
Using locally harvested plants and simple tools, children in groups make real huts as our ancestors might have designed them. For the duration of the stay, they will be the place of welcome, picnics and free play.
+ 2 workshops to choose from:
– Workshop Making a walking stick
Transform a simple hazelnut rod into a real Pyrenean shepherd’s stick thanks to the action of fire. Each child will leave with his or her own unique stick, an essential tool for surveying the mountains in safety.
– Tracking games
No mountain adventure without knowing how to find your way: with the help of a roadmap and a compass, children find, in the form of a track game, objects hidden in the nearby environment.
– Animal tracks and clues
During a walk, children sharpen their curiosity by learning to recognize the footprints, hairs, meal and passage tracks of the many animals that inhabit the forests of Ariège.
– Flora and forest
Discover the flora and forest of our mountains depending on the season, understand the fabulous adaptations of these species to survive in this environment while becoming aware of their fragility and their necessary preservation.
