Brougues reception area

This locality above the commune of Mercus takes its name from the cupules carved into the rock, which local legend attributes to witches known as "brougues".

All hikers taking the signposted path from the village to Mont Fourcat pass through this communal forest where, thanks to the efforts of the commune in conjunction with the ONF, they can now enjoy a picnic area in the shade of the pines and an orientation table set up in front of a 180-degree panorama of the Pyrenees chain.
