The fruit of a fine collaboration between the Chamber of Agriculture and the Communauté de Communes de la Haute Ariège, this "Carnet gourmand des producteurs locaux" is aimed at all residents, tourists and visitors to the Haute-Ariège region.
Of course, eating local means eating fresh, seasonal produce, without having to go through the cold chain of middlemen.
It also means better remuneration for our producers, and thus contributing to the local economy by encouraging new farms to set up or consolidate, as well as a limited environmental impact thanks to human-scale agriculture that respects resources and exemplary traceability.
Consuming locally means supporting our agriculture and playing a direct part in the economic diversification needed by our farms. It also means committing to the virtuous circle of a circular economy, by playing an active role in our region's transition.
Built on a voluntary basis, this booklet will evolve and grow.
