The Club is involved in prospecting and protecting numerous networks in the Ariège region. Their discoveries include the Sakany cave, the Cierges cave, the Clastres network in 1970 and the topography of the Bédeilhac cave in 1982.
Since the end of the last ice age 18,000 years ago, Tarascon has become a land of caves. Cave paintings and furniture found in numerous caves near our town are evidence of the extensive occupation of these natural shelters by our ancestors.
