(D/A) From the port of Lers, at 1517m, the path, opposite the milestone, winds through the lawns. It then veers to the left and enters a steep slope. Follow the ridge line.

1h40 - PIC DE FONTANETTE (2002m). Climb to the Pic de Barrès at 2043m. Then move away from the ridgeline, shifting to the right on the flank of the massif.

2h20 - Below the Massif des Trois Seigneurs ridgeline. To reach the peak, go right. A few hairpin bends quickly bring you back to the ridgeline, which you follow to the right.

2h30 - PIC DES TROIS SEIGNEURS (2199m). The return loop takes you back to the ridgeline. Join the upper part of a talweg. A small stream runs through it, so continue a little to the left. Follow the path between boulders. On the left, the path slips into the notch of the stream.

    4h20 - ETANG D'ARBU (1726m). Follow the signs.

5h00 - PONT DE GANIOULE (1410m). Cross the bridge. Follow the valley side. You ford the different branches of the Biert stream.
The path eventually climbs back up, joining the D18. Continue up the D8 for 1.7km.
