Sporty friends, scouts of beautiful routes...
You've chosen the wilderness that gives the Ariege Pyrenees its strength and profound originality for a great event.
Sporty friends, scouts of beautiful routes...
You've chosen the wilderness that gives the Ariege Pyrenees its strength and profound originality for a great event.
This land in the very south of the Occitanie region, between nature and mountains, will lead you along the paths of men and their hopes, to the discovery of effort and courage.
If you've been interested in semi-autonomous long-distance running for a short or long time... if running is synonymous with discovery, this sporting event is for you!
As you run, you'll discover a country with a proud past, marked by a colorful, fascinating and endearing history. But beyond the appeal of the route's authentic charms, participants in the UltrAriège can't escape the ruggedness of the route.
Our challenge is now your challenge. You'll find harmony between nature and passion, pleasure and effort, because there's nothing flat about the Ariège.
If the UltrAriège means rediscovering nature by running, walking and, in this effort, our roots...
From Romanesque chapels to the last breath of Catharism, from forgotten orris to villages clinging to mountainsides,
from riotous soulanes to narrow, obscure valleys, from castles rich in character to secret, high-altitude borders, from grassy paths to rugged, rocky trails... it's also about encountering the earth and the pure air, the water and the light... just for freedom, just for pleasure!
So let us be your guide and set off in search of an authentic heritage.... Let's set off together, in the footsteps of pedlars, Cathar shepherds, miners, smugglers, lumberjacks, bear tamers, legendary castles...
But we also owe these moments of happiness shared with nature to the passion of the men and women around you, around us, who have been working for several months now. They communicate the love they have for their valleys, but also the desire to welcome you with warmth and generosity.
Thank you again for your confidence.

We wish you all a pleasant stay in the Ariège-Pyrenees region.
