Eliette, an eight-year-old girl, lives in a country where the king has forbidden music. A troubadour from the East has his instruments confiscated. But he is not inclined to servitude and meets Eliette, who has secretly carved a flute from a wild reed. Eliette and the troubadour strike up a friendship. Together they will lead the people to freedom from tyranny. This story sets the tone for the feature film Le Vent dans les roseaux (62 minutes), in which La Chouette du cinéma, a presenter who speaks to children in the audience, offers five adventures around freedom, with original music and surprising heroines.
