The recipe for HYPOCRAS is attributed to the famous Greek physician Hippocrates (5th century BC). Much later, Christian knights on the occasion of the first Crusades were won over by this veritable "magic potion" and brought the Hypocras recipe back to the West. HYPOCRAS became the fashionable aperitif of the Middle Ages, thanks to its pleasant flavors and invigorating, even aphrodisiac (it was claimed...) virtues.

Among its most famous followers were Rabelais, Henri IV, Louis XIV and Gaston Fébus. After the 18th century, the precious recipe fell into oblivion.

Today, thanks to the Séguélas family, it's possible to discover just how pleasant it is to enjoy the rich flavors of Hypocras. Their recipe is faithful to the original, to bring you this 100% natural nectar.
A golden-brown glow, with singular, delicious flavors of oriental spices.

Authentic, generous and tasty, HYPOCRAS will seduce you, served chilled and without ice as an aperitif, but also as a dessert wine.

Many chefs use HYPOCRAS in their recipes.
