This is the must-do walk in the Orlu Valley. Easily accessible, it takes you to the heart of the Orlu National Game and Wildlife Reserve. If you're lucky, you'll spot marmots, isards and other large birds of prey.
From Ax-les-Thermes, head for the village of Orlu. After the village, continue towards the Forges d'Orlu. Once at the Forges, turn left towards the Orlu reserve and follow the road for about 3km to the Fanguil parking lot.
- Guidebook with maps/step-by-step(D) - Start at the end of the Fanguil parking lot, taking the small wooden bridge. Follow the yellow markings towards the En Beys refuge.
0h25 - Take the footbridge and follow the path up to the right of the stream.
1h00 - At the Justiniac jasse, continue up the path, leaving the stream on your left.
1h30 - You arrive at the jasse de Louriot, also known as the prairies of Gaudu. Take the same path in the opposite direction back to the parking lot.
