In Svilengrad, a small town on the Bulgarian border, on the outskirts of a neglected part of Europe, Veska, an archaeologist, reconnects with Said, a childhood friend whose car has just been stolen. In her efforts to help him, Veska gradually finds herself drawn into the heart of a criminal organization that holds the town in its grip. Veska will have to confront this world that is both murky and dangerous.
