The Château de Miglos stands on a limestone spur in the Vicdessos valley between Niaux and Capoulet, with its imposing ruins dating back to the 14th century. In the mid-13th century, the local lord, Arnaud de Miglos, became known as a supporter of the Cathar cause, sending arms to the defenders of the besieged Montségur. At the end of the Middle Ages, the land of Miglos became a barony, giving the right of entry to the States of Foix. In 1789, the Château de Miglos (already in ruins) burned down. It was classified as a historic monument in 1987, and crystallization work enabled the restoration of the keep and north-west tower in 2017, saving the ruins of the castle. The association and the département are currently creating an interpretation trail around the castle. Free admission to the surrounding area. Parking lot. Water point. Notice board. An orientation table offers a panoramic view of the Vicdessos valley and the Niaux cave.
