The Miners' Trail
15 km, 850 m elevation gain
A beautiful route following in the footsteps of the Rancié miners, passing through the villages of Olbier, Goulier, and Sem, which were home to the miners at the beginning of the last century.
7:00 a.m. – Race bib pickup
Over the course of four days, the Montcalm Challenge offers high-mountain trail races.
On its legendary PicaPica race, its “little sister” the PicAriege, and the Marathon, you’ll climb to the highest points of the Ariège and Catalonia: the summits of Montcalm (3,077 m) and Pique d’Estat (3,143 m).
But that’s not all… Challenge yourself on the “Mineurs” and “Novis” trails, which will take you through the valley’s villages; burn some calories on the famous Vertical Kilometer; and have fun in the festive atmosphere of the Trail By Night!
More than just races, the Montcalm Challenge is, above all, a shared human adventure! Share unique moments with other mountain enthusiasts and discover the breathtaking landscapes of our valley.
⚠️ In accordance with requests from the authorities to ensure participants’ safety, access to the Soulcem and Lartigue areas will be strictly limited to authorized vehicles.
The road will be closed starting from Marc:
Friday, August 14, for Soulcem from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, August 15, for L’Artigue from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
