The Plateau de Beille, at the foot of the village of Les Cabannes, culminates at an altitude of 1790m. For cyclists, this ascent, classified as hors catégorie, is known for having been the regular site of Tour de France stage finishes since 1998.

Access: From Ax-les-Thermes, take the RN20 towards Foix. Exit at Les Cabannes, after the village of Albiès. The climb can be started from the Place des Plane trees in the village center.
